A national indicator does not automatically describe a school or association. Connectivity may be strong while permission to use a task’s data is missing. Local decisions need local evidence.
The decision to examine
Separate connectivity, skills, governance and testing. Answer from demonstrated practice and show unknowns. Strong scores elsewhere cannot compensate for a missing essential condition.
Worked example
A hypothetical team has devices and a trainer but no appeal channel. It pauses decisions affecting people until review and correction exist, regardless of its total score.
From idea to practice
- Describe the problem as a need, not a product name.
- Specify evidence needed before a decision and who reviews it.
- Test a non-personal example and log failures as well as successes.
- State whether to continue, improve or stop and why.
Your exercise
Use the readiness notebook and identify two questions lacking evidence. Assign a small verification task to each before acquiring a tool.
Review rubric
A useful answer identifies a context, checkable evidence, a boundary and an owner for the next step. If it fits any organisation unchanged, add a detail specific to the case. This is a learning rubric, not automatic marking or official assessment.
